Sue is a Graduate of the University of Tasmania, School of Medicine. Her background is in general practice. In 1995 she co-founded Laserway, a practice specialising in sclerotherapy (treatment of leg veins) and laser treatments.
Sue has completed training within Australia and overseas, including a course in Laser Biophysics run by the Harvard Medical School post graduate foundation.
Sue is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Phlebology (veins) and an Associate Member of ASLMS (American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery).
In 2012, Laserway divided and Sue stayed on in the same site creating a new entity called Laserway on Davey.
Sue and her highly trained team of experienced professional practitioners are committed to delivering International best practice treatments through state of the art technologies and products. They are committed to ongoing education and training to ensure that they remain at the forefront of this progressive area of medicine.
John is a graduate of Sydney University who, after initial hospital training, completed six years of specialist training in Ophthalmology where his interest in eyelid and delicate facial surgery had its origins. After two years in Alice Springs as regional ophthalmologist he returned to Hobart and entered general practice in Sandy Bay, maintaining some parallel ongoing ophthalmology work. Over a decade ago he commenced working in this area of medicine, providing services in various treatments and has had wide experience in the use of lasers and injectables, especially muscle relaxant and dermal filler injections, both of hyaluronic acid and collagen stimulation. John has trained under visiting overseas trainers and has himself been a trainer for Q-Med. He also provides surgical expertise in removal of facial skin blemishes and both upper and lower eyelid surgery.
He aims to provide medical advice and skilled cosmetic skin services with a focus on rejuvenation and freshening of faces. John’s treatments are provided in a sensitive and professional manner, utilising medical, pharmalogical, injectable and surgical techniques appropriate to each individual patient. Together with his cosmetic work, John continues to divide his time between general practice and specialist ophthalmology.
Dr Sophie Otlowski grew up in Hobart and obtained her medical degree in 2015 at the University of Tasmania. She is also currently undertaking her specialty training in General Practice, hoping to finish her training at the end of 2021. Sophie has always had an interest in skin & aesthetic medicine and enjoys combining laser treatments, muscle relaxants and skin care, including prescription only medications. Sophie started working at Laserway on Davey in July 2020 and is currently working Mondays and Wednesdays.
Ebony has recently joined the team. She is a Graduate of The University of Tasmania, School of Medicine earning a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery. She is currently finishing her General Practice training requirements and, as part of this, has branched into Cosmetic Medicine as an extended skill. Prior to General practice she has worked in many surgical roles and as an Emergency Doctor.
Ebony has an artistic eye and works thoroughly with attention to detail which will bode well in this field. Ebony aims to provide well informed, professional treatments with a focus on natural finishes. We are excited to have her as part of the team.
Reanna has many years of experience in dermal therapies. She trained as a beauty therapist in Melbourne and has worked closely with cosmetic physicians and gained a strong interest in all areas of the aesthetics industry. Reanna has widespread expertise in laser & IPL solutions, microdermabrasion, medical skin facials, scar revision, knowledge of mineral make-up and camouflage and is skilled in a variety of anti-aging & rejuvenating skin treatments. Reanna has had comprehensive training in medical grade skin care and can provide a personalised, home care, regime to protect your treatment results and gain optimum skin health. She is dedicated to assessing varying skin conditions to individually tailor a treatment plan unique to the skin concerns of her clients. She will inspire confidence and guide you in choosing the right skin care program to suit your specific concerns.
Nelly has been working in the beauty and medical aesthetics industry since 2016. She holds an International Diploma of Beauty Therapy and has always had a keen interest in skin health and aesthetics. She has worked closely with cosmetic physicians over the past 3 years, specialising in dermal therapies, and has gained vast knowledge in skin care, laser and IPL treatments chemical peels, enzyme reactivating treatments, microdermabrasion, skin needling and body contouring. Nelly’s primary focus is optimal skin health, protection and repair then being able to move forward with rejuvenation or revision to best suit each individual.
Laura is a graduate of Elly Lukas College of Beauty Therapy in Melbourne who spent her early years in the industry working as a therapist and manager of beauty salons and cosmetic clinics across Victoria and Tasmania including destination day spas located in Daylesford and Australia’s Alpine Ski Resorts.
To advance her knowledge of skin health Laura began a post graduate Diploma of Dermal Science learning about the non-surgical and surgical procedures available within Australia, Laura is now studying a Bachelor of Nursing at UTAS and due to graduate as a Registered Nurse in 2022.
While Laura completes her nursing degree, she will be working at Laserway on Davey and alongside Mr Cameron Keating at the Hobart Institute of Plastic Surgery.
Jenny has been involved in this area of Medicine with Dr Sue Galligan since 1999. During that time she has successfully overhauled office policies and procedures optimising internal efficiency. She has also been responsible for ensuring business and medical compliance obligations are met and maintained in addition to keeping abreast of legislative changes relevant to the practice. Jenny is committed to fostering excellent working relationships with all providers as well as being the liaison person for communication between staff, doctors and patients. This assists greatly in enabling the practice to consistently provide the highest standards of customer service to meet the needs and expectations of our patients.
Jenny holds a Diploma in Professional Practice Management and is a member of the Australian Association of Practice Managers.
