Dr John Banks

Over a decade ago he commenced working in this area of medicine, providing services in various treatments and has had wide experience in the use of lasers and injectables, especially muscle relaxant and dermal filler injections, both of hyaluronic acid and collagen stimulation. John has trained under visiting overseas trainers and has himself been a trainer for Q-Med. Dr Amy O'Brien
BMedSc; MBBS (Hons); FRACGP; Cert. Sclerotherapy.
Amy is a fully qualified general practitioner who has chosen to subspecialise in skin and vein medicine. This has allowed Amy to focus her knowledge in the areas of skin cancer, noncancerous skin conditions, laser and other device-based technologies, dermal fillers, antiwrinkle treatments, and treatment of varicose veins.
Skin Cancers – When not at Laserway on Davey, Amy works at Macquarie Skin Cancer Clinic and refers her patients between the two practices, depending on their medical or cosmetic needs. Amy provides skin cancer surveillance, diagnosis, education and management. This includes excision, topical therapies, and use of lasers when appropriate.
Skin - Amy offers review of common noncancerous skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis and rosacea. Prescription medications underpin the management of these conditions however, the use of good quality skin products enhance the natural barrier of your skin, decreasing the need for medical intervention in some situations. Amy works closely with the dermal clinicians at Laserway to determine the most appropriate skin regimens for the individual patient.
Lasers - The use of lasers has become widely sought after in recent years. Some conditions, especially undiagnosed skin cancers, are not appropriate for laser therapy. Amy provides medical expertise when assessing a patient’s skin and discussing appropriate laser-based treatments. Whether it be redness, pigmentation, scarring, dull crepe like skin or wrinkles, Amy will discuss the most appropriate laser for your skin, as well as explain realistic outcomes that can be achieved. Other heat-based devices include micro focussed Ultrasound and IPL (intense pulsed light) which Amy also uses routinely.
Injectable Therapy - Amy offers facial rejuvenation through injecting muscle relaxants and dermal fillers. Antiwrinkle injection therapy is used to soften facial lines including frown lines, forehead lines, Crow’s feet, and lines around the mouth and neck. Dermal fillers can be used to rejuvenate ageing skin and enhance the face. Amy uses these therapies in a considered way to enhance a patient’s natural look without creating a face that is out of proportion.
Varicose Veins - Veins cause patients significant distress both medically and cosmetically. Amy provides treatments for veins ranging from spider veins to large varicosities. Options include topical laser therapies, microsclerotherapy and Ultrasound guided sclerotherapy (injection therapy), as well as endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) of large truncal varicosities.
Amy enjoys developing rapport with her patients, understanding an individual’s needs and sharing their journey with them. Whether it be a medical or cosmetic concern Amy is happy to meet with you and discuss your concerns.
